Medifoods

Occupying 2 shop lots  along SS18/6 is Medifoods. One shop lot serves as a restaurant while the other  an organic shop which sells organic stuff such as vegetables, fruits, cereals, biscuits, chicken and fish. What makes me interested in Medifoods is the fact that most organic restaurants I have come across thus far are usually also vegetarian ones. So this restaurant is different in that sense….organic chicken is also served.

We arrived at 7 pm on a weekday and were greeted by the ever friendly waitress. She gave us the menu and left us to decide what to it. In the mean time, she went to the kitchen and brought us a plate of sengkuang (turnip) on the house! Fruits are often served here before your meal and they are complimentary – on previous occasions I have been given guava, papaya and even dragon fruit.

We ordered 3 dishes to be shared. The first dish was kong fu yee mee, which was a vegetarian dish. Since we did not feel like having pure vegan dish today, we asked for this dish to have pieces of chicken in it. For RM12, this dish was well worth the money. I love it very much as it wasn’t too starchy. In fact it was one of the best organic dishes I have ever tasted.

This is dry noodle dumpling (RM8.50). It had a rather strange smell – I believe it must be the oil used. Frankly I did not like the smell of it although the taste was ok.

Chicken chop with creamy mushroom sauce (RM18.90). This was served with a generous serving of salad on the side and also with broccoli & tomatoes . From the photo, I am sure you can see the freshness of the vegetables served.
